In May, the European Union will begin enforcing penalties under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The penalties for non-compliance can be severe - up to 4% of your company's annual revenue or €20 million. While European companies have had this on their radar for a long time, American companies have been a little slower to recognize that the regulation actually has global impact.
